This is a portable SO2 gas emission amount observation system developed for field observation of volcanic SO2 gas. Higher precision, higher functionality, smaller size and lighter weight than conventional products. This device consists of a spectroscope with an ultraviolet telescope, a mirror scan unit, and a laptop computer for data processing. Volcanic gas near the fumaroles can be remotely measured in a mobile and safe manner. In addition, if a mirror scan unit is attached to the condensing system, the SO2 gas column concentration can be measured in full. A USB connection is used from the spectroscopic unit to the data processing laptop computer, and the main unit is equipped with a grating, CCD spectroscopic camera, ultraviolet telescope, and USB connector. Equipped with continuous data collection/quantification software for SO2 gas as standard, and GPS function as an option.
